Steve Truelove on HubPages

Hi,

My wife (Tina Truelove) has been writing for Hubpages for some time now and has been after me to start as well.  I’m new to the whole blogging thing and still trying to get my head around the process.  I like technology of all kinds to include any and all gizmos and gadgets (my wife will attest to that).  Motivation and Leadership are other areas that interest me as well.  I’m always in a book looking for ways to grow and help myself and others.  I will tend to post items related to these areas and look forward to getting your feedback and request.

I have had an interesting background thus far.  I started out as a production worker in a ball bearing manufacturing facility.  After a couple of years I decided to join the Marines.  After boot camp, I was sent for diesel mechanics training.  My dad had a laugh at that since I have never been very mechanically inclined.  During my stent with the Marines, I got married to my wife of 19 years this June (2010).  I did get the opportunity to go over-seas while I was in the Marines. I was involved in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia for about 3 months.  My wife was pregnant with our first child while I was in Somalia.  I was sent back home just in time to see him born.  Shortly after his birth, I got out of the Marines and went back to work for the bearing company.  We now have three beautiful kids that are truly great (Andrew, Brianne, and Megan). They keep us hopping around for band practice, soccer practice, and art school.

Back to my story, I got my first associates degree in electronics while finishing my Electrical Journeyman’s card.  I left the ball bearing company and started working with a Chewing Gum Manufacturer.  I started there as an electrician.  Seven years later I was asked to become a Maintenance Team Leader.  I did that for about 8 months.  I then moved into the job of my dreams – a technical analyst in the Informational Technology field.  A year later, I became the Site Lead.  I did that for two years, until our company was bought out by another bigger company.  I was asked to take a position on a project team as the Technical Lead for four of our regional locations and that brings you up to date for now.  I look forward to what the future holds and I’m excited to see what happens here as well.
